IT Engineer Reality VS Expectation

Salam , have a nice Sunday mood chill and relax with people who we care most. Masa hangout with family and friend always slalu keluar soalan klise untuk several type of group such as :



  • Bujang fresh graduate : Baru lepas graduate kan , dapat kerja kat mana ? 
  • Bujang dah lama single : Bila nak kahwin  ? kalau lelaki maybe macam masuk telinga kanan keluar telinga kiri
  • Berkahwin dan lain : Paham paham je la kan. 

This one saya tak nak to be specific since kekadang , orang yang bertanya, do care about us , nak tahu kita ok ke tidak , do we need their help , sometimes saya paham situasi tuh tetapi secara tidak langsung ia juga memberi tekanan luaran bagi golongan tersebut. Example macam saya sendiri , sometimes rasa agak tertekanan bila always ditanyakan soalan soalan sedemikian berulang kali. 

Berbalik kepada tajuk kat atas , so bila saya hangout with family and friends , so keluar soalan klise dapat kerja apa ? kerja kat mana ?. then kita sebutlah Technical Support Engineer for this company. and everyone macam terpesona with this Engineer title , especially yang bukan berada di bidang IT field. And i feel like "Bro .... nama je engineer tapi kuli orang" HAHA 

Kalau rezeki tuhan bagi lebih , then as fresh graduate IT Engineer should be good enough, roughly dalam RM 2.5k just kalau  allowance tuh ada lah dapat lebih sikit depends what work you do. So sesiapa yang not really know IT field tuh macam mana , so dalam IT field basically ada 2 pecahan utama such as :

  1. Programmer : Design and Maintain System , mostly related to coding and database.
  2. Technical: 70% hardware and 30 % maintain system. This is ME .
 
Why we have entitled for Engineer ?  Basically what we is , if the client  have issue with their hardware and software we are the 1st team in charge of to solve the problem. Based on my experience as IT technician and technical support engineer ,  "Dont Trust your Client !! Dont Ever Ever Trust Your Client" 


Why  ? Bila kita as Technical support receive a issue , baca description problem from user. Monitor blank tak on. so as commonly ingat the worst case scenario maybe front panel monitor or something like it , so kita bersusah payah la prepare bawa monitor baru untuk tukar for temporary replacement , sekali datang on site , tak tekan power plug on. Dengan Senyuman terukir di muka , " La tak on plug je pun , baru lah user tersipu sipu ekh sorry sorry tak perasan lah siap yang off power plug" Time tuh emosi just like picture kat bawah , rasa nak bunuh je user nieh . HAHA

 




"So friends and user , kami technical support berharap before call , please do make sure take any necessary step before issue the problem, kami pun manusia biasa juga sometimes ada rough day , kami bantu anda , anda bantu kami tak gitu"

This is what the reality is , entitled "Engineer" tak se Gah manapun biasa biasa je kuli company je, ke hulu ke hilir . Berkaitan entitled "Engineer" bakal tunang , or girlfriend dont be proud sangat  entitled
"Engineer" sometimes kami nieh ada waktu kering kontang jugak especially who cover site to site support , nak bayar tol , minyak dan parking  " Tak Murah babe" kalau malas nya kerja boleh collect RM 1K just untuk cover those bayangkan kalau rajin and tahu la bab bab claim company punya lembab nak bayar , kalau boleh semua nak minta approval sana sini , 8 tahun baru dapat , time tuh dah mati kering agaknya. HAHA 

Every job ada pros and cons nya , so what i see as technical support pros and cos  :

Pros
  • 100% tak duduk office 
  •  Cukup setahun , otak dah boleh ganti google map or wave. 
  • This one depends :Balik awal kalau takda issue. 
  • Company provide learning experience. 

Cons
  • Balik tak tentu masa , based on project or client 
  • Hidup di Jalan raya , jammed adalah teman rapat anda 
  • On call, especially dah terikat dengan certain project . For example saya involve dalam DiGi Point of sales. bila POS system down then kene  respond tak kira masa , 
  • Gaji hanya nak bayar tol . minyak and parking.

Panjang lebar cerita , so conclusion nya this all adalah reality as an IT engineer ,  not what we aspect and not what we want to be how people see us . nevertheless  ini rezeki halal tuhan beri , and i love this field of work. Until next time , See ya XOXO.
